UNE Attends NACCHO Public Health Conference 2016

NACCHO Public Health Conference 2016 NACCHO’s Annual Conference, the largest gathering of local health department leaders and other public health professionals in the US, was held in Phoenix in late July this year. UNE attended as an exhibitor in order to add value to the conference conversation, network with fellow public health professionals, and learn more about the latest public health topics. It was wonderful to see many familiar faces from last year. The conference is always a great opportunity for local health department staff, partners, and individuals interested in local public health to share their latest research and ideas, and test their assumptions about the issues and topics around local public health. Student Spotlight: Mona Haimour, MPH – Public Health Program

Mona Haimour Mona Haimour, RN, BScN, MSN, MPH(c) is an Assistant Professor in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton, Canada. And as an inductee to UNE’s Chapter of the Delta Omega Honor Society last year, she has also proven herself to be one of UNE’s brightest MPH students. Mona has done wonderfully as a UNE student and full-time professional. She will be finishing up her MPH this semester, and has just returned from a Practical Experience trip abroad in South Africa with the organization Children and Family Health International (CHFI). Gamma Chi New inductees The University of New England is excited to congratulate 21 students who have been inducted into Gamma Chi, UNE’s chapter of the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. These students are enrolled in the Master of Public Health program within the College of Graduate and Professional Studies.
