Strong Classroom Routines/Protocols and the What If's

Presenter:

Jennifer Baker, Assistant Principal, LCPC, Pre-K-12 School Counselor
Brenna Milbier, 5th Grade Teacher

Join us for a practical workshop focused on building strong classroom routines and protocols that support both academic learning and students’ social-emotional needs. We will explore how intentional structures, clear expectations, and consistent responses help create classrooms where students feel safe, regulated, and ready to learn. The session will also focus on when and how to revisit SEL and academic expectations throughout the day, especially after disruptions or challenging moments.

We’ll also talk through the “what ifs”—what if a student becomes dysregulated, a routine breaks down, or a situation escalates? Participants will leave with simple, effective de-escalation strategies and collaborative approaches that teachers, counselors, and support staff can use to support students and one another. This session is designed for anyone who works directly with students or supports classroom teachers.
