Here at UNE, we provide teachers with three options to earning their MSEd online. Teachers may either earn their general MSEd and specialize in a specific area of interest, or they can earn a more specified MSEd in either special education or literacy. All programs are 100% online.
Our 30-credit, online Master of Science in Education (MSEd) program is designed to help students broaden their thinking in education through a range of educational and leadership topics that include diversity & inclusion, educational ethics, online learning, and literacy.
Our MSEd program is designed for any individual interested in advancing their career, knowledge, or skill set in the education field. Optional focus areas include: Curriculum & Instructional Strategy, Educational Leadership, Inclusion Education, Literacy (K-12), and Online Learning Design (NEW).
Our 30-credit, MSEd in Inclusion Education program prepares teachers to become special education teachers and is an approved program for preparation for the Teacher of Students with Disabilities 282 Endorsement in the State of Maine.
Teachers with this endorsement have wider career prospects, as certified special education teachers are always in demand in Maine and across the country. More importantly, the skills you develop will help you become a better teacher for all of your future students regardless of their ability level.
Our 36-credit, MSEd Reading Specialist program prepares teachers to become Reading Specialists in a K-12 setting. This program is approved preparation for Literacy Specialist Certification (092) in the State of Maine.
This program is designed to equip teachers with the foundational knowledge that they need to assess students and to provide targeted literacy instruction. It prepares them to take a leadership role in their school and districts to support fellow educators in their goal of improving students’ literacy growth.
