The UNE MS Applied Nutrition (MSAN) RDN focus is designed to be completed in 2 years full-time (two 3-credit didactic courses paired with two 1-credit lab courses per semester inclusive of summers). The program is a total of 48 credit hours. Upon successful completion of the didactic course work and Supervised Experiential Learning hours, you will receive a verification statement that allows you to write the exam for the credential of Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).

The Future Education Model for Graduate Programs, developed by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®), addresses current health demands with an education model rooted in leadership, research, and communication.
As a Future Education Model Graduate Program, UNE Online provides the coursework and supervised experiential learning required for eligibility to sit for the RDN exam. And upon successful completion of the RDN focus area, students are awarded a verification statement as proof of completion.
