Transfer Student Admissions

Transfer Credit at UNE Online
UNE Online recognizes the value of prior academic coursework. Our transfer credit process is designed to help eligible students apply previous learning toward their degree, reducing time to completion and overall cost where possible.
How Will UNE Online Evaluate My Transfer Credits?
UNE Online considers transfer credit from a range of approved sources. Credits are evaluated individually to determine alignment with program requirements and institutional standards.
Eligible sources may include:
- Coursework completed at regionally accredited colleges or universities
All transfer credit decisions are made in accordance with University and program-specific policies.
Will I Receive Guidance From UNE Online Throughout the Transfer Process?
Enrollment and Retention Counselors are available to discuss transfer credit questions prior to application and throughout the admissions process. Once admitted, students receive an official transfer credit evaluation outlining how eligible credits apply to their program of study.
After enrollment, students continue to receive support by an Enrollment and Retention Counselor who can help with course planning and degree progression.
What are the Transfer Credit Policies and Guidelines?
Transfer credit policies vary by program. The information below provides general guidelines. Please reach out to your Enrollment and Retention Counselor for program-specific transfer credit policies and requirements.
- Course-level matches program level of study (i.e. graduate courses to graduate program)
- Taken within 5-years of application
- Completed with a grade of B or better
- Worth 3-credits
- Equivalent to one (1) of the required program courses or an elective course that meets programmatic goals
Currently enrolled UNE Online students may take coursework at another institution with prior approval. Official transcripts must be submitted after course completion for transfer review.
Transfer credit evaluations are completed after admission and receipt of official transcripts and course syllabus. Students are notified once the evaluation is finalized.

“What I loved most about my experience at UNE were the professors. The teachers were always by my side. I always felt like I could reach out to them. No problem was too big, and no question was too small, from the start of my dissertation journey to my committee at the end.”
