Course Guidelines
Active students in matriculated on-ground degree programs are not permitted to register for courses through this platform and should use Compass for course registration.
Current or past UNE students with financial and/or administrative holds on their accounts are not permitted to register for courses until the hold(s) have been resolved.
Graduate Coursework
Courses numbered 500 and above are graduate-level courses, designed for students who have completed a baccalaureate degree. Successful completion of these courses does not guarantee admission into a UNE graduate program. In order to earn a graduate degree from UNE, a student must be enrolled in a graduate program.
Undergraduate Courses
Self-Paced Courses: Students progress through course material at their own pace within the 16-week course period. Course content is released sequentially as students complete and submit required coursework, allowing students to move through the course at a pace that works for them.
Due-Date Driven Courses: Shorter, accelerated course options follow a structured weekly schedule. Students complete assignments and participate in required discussions according to established due dates, with new course material released each week.
Prerequisite Requirement
Some courses require you to complete other courses first. These are called prerequisites and are listed on each course’s description page. Before you register, make sure you have completed or are currently enrolled in any required prerequisites.
Course Format & Academic Engagement
UNE Online courses may be offered in different formats and lengths. Depending on the course, students may experience accelerated coursework with regular weekly deadlines, longer structured courses, or flexible/self-paced course formats.
Before registering, review the individual course description, course length, expectations, and schedule to ensure the format is appropriate for you.
Students are responsible for actively participating in their courses and completing required coursework according to the deadlines and academic engagement expectations established for each course.
Time Commitment: Online courses require a significant time commitment. The amount of time required each week varies depending on the number of credits, course length, subject matter, and individual student.
Accelerated courses require students to complete the same or comparable academic work within a shorter period of time and may therefore require a substantial weekly commitment.
Students should review the individual course description and syllabus for course-specific expectations before enrolling.
Minimum Technology Requirements: Students must have access to a computer that is 5 years old or newer and Internet speed of 10 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload (recommend 50+ Mbps download and 10+ Mbps upload). Students must have basic computer skills, including file management, system updates, productivity software use, internet navigation, and email communication with attachments and file transfers. Academic Integrity
UNE Online takes academic integrity seriously. Where a course includes exams, those exams are proctored through Honorlock. Academic dishonesty includes cheating, plagiarism, unauthorized collaboration, and unauthorized use of outside resources or AI tools during an exam. It may result in a failing grade, removal from the course without a refund, or dismissal from a program. Because these courses are often taken in preparation for admission to health professions and other graduate programs, a finding of academic dishonesty becomes part of your academic record and may be reported to your home institution or program and disclosed to programs to which you apply or seek to enroll. For Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Health students, it may also affect eligibility to request a committee letter and to take advantage of UNE’s articulation agreements. Refunds and Withdrawals
Payment is due in full at the time of registration. Refund eligibility depends on your course’s length and format and on when you submit your drop or withdrawal request. Drops and withdrawals are not automatic; you must submit the request yourself by the applicable deadline. Please review the Drop, Withdrawal, Audit & Refund Policies before you register.
UNE Online reserves the right to cancel any course at any time and provide a full refund to the purchaser.
