The University of New England Online College of Professional Studies offers a fully online Introduction to Emergency Management certificate delivered as a seven-course integrated series. Designed to provide foundational knowledge across core emergency management domains, this structured pathway progresses sequentially, with each course reinforcing and expanding upon the previous to create a cohesive, practical learning experience. Participants enroll in the full series and complete: Emergency Management Fundamentals; Community Preparedness Planning; Emergency Response Essentials; Community Recovery Strategies; Legal and Ethical Foundations; Communicating in Crisis; and Mitigation Strategies for Disaster Resilience. Upon successful completion, participants earn a Certificate in the Fundamentals of Emergency Management from the University of New England. This program prepares professionals for emergency management roles, expanded organizational responsibility, and progression into advanced UNE offerings, including Operational Leadership, Emergency Management Policy, Strategic Management, and related specialties.

Participants complete the full seven-course series in the following order:
Completion of the full sequence is required to earn the Certificate and 7 CEUs (approximately 70 total hours, or about 10 hours per CEU).
