Courtney Mejia works as a Student Service Advisor for our Science Prerequisite for Health Professions courses. Courtney is always willing to go the extra step for her students with her compassionate personality! She understands our non-matriculated student population, and to say Courtney is a problem solver is an understatement.
At UNE Online, our students are our top priority, and their success is what drives each and every one of us to do what we do. We’d like to share a little bit about the people that are dedicated to making that happen every day.
I work with the Science Prerequisites for Health Professions program! I work to help students fill in the gaps in their education between their undergraduate degree and their future career choice in the Health Professions field. My role includes assisting prospective students with enrollment and then assisting them as they progress through their course(s).

I am originally from Maine. I have lived in Thailand, Japan, and Ecuador for a number of years but eventually came back to this beautiful state to start a family.
Any dessert with peanut butter is my dessert of choice!

The change of seasons and the opportunity to enjoy such a range of outdoor activities! If you’re thinking of visiting Maine I definitely recommend the fall season. The fall foliage is quite the sight!

I am fluent in Spanish and can detect most speech patterns to specific countries and cities.
My ideal Sunday is spent outdoors with my family! I have three babies and a wonderful husband with whom I love to explore the outdoors and experience new things.
The ability to help students solve problems and complete our courses so they can make a positive change or begin a new career really makes the job worthwhile!
The self-paced, online nature of our courses allow students to work through the material flexibly, allowing them to live their everyday life while improving their future.

I was able to get a preview of our newly redesigned Medical Terminology course. It offers new and exciting interactive assignments and activities that help students with terminology learning. This new approach to tackle a very important course full of memorization is very exciting for students looking for an interactive way to learn!
I started the Master of Science in Applied Nutrition program to expand my knowledge in nutrition and to use it to instill the best eating habits in my three children. I received so much more than that with the help of my amazing instructors, classmates, and student support specialists.
What I learned in this program greatly altered how I viewed the world in regards to nutrition. I encourage anyone who wants to continue their education to go for it!
