At UNE Online, our students are our top priority, and their success is what drives each and every one of us to do what we do. We’d like to share a little bit about the people that are dedicated to making that happen every day.
What do you do at UNE Online?
I work with the Science Prerequisites for Health Professions program! I work to help students fill in the gaps in their education between their undergraduate degree and their future career choice in the Health Professions field. My role includes assisting prospective students with enrollment and then assisting them as they progress through their course(s).
Where are you from?
I am originally from Maine. I have lived in Thailand, Japan, and Ecuador for a number of years but eventually came back to this beautiful state to start a family.
What’s your favorite dessert?
Any dessert with peanut butter is my dessert of choice!
What is the best professional advice you’ve received?
Find the value in whatever you do.
What’s your favorite thing about living in Maine?
The change of seasons and the opportunity to enjoy such a range of outdoor activities! If you’re thinking of visiting Maine I definitely recommend the fall season. The fall foliage is quite the sight!
What’s your motto?
You do you! I am going to be over here sunshine and rainbows no matter what!
Do you have a secret talent?
I am fluent in Spanish and can detect most speech patterns to specific countries and cities.

What’s your ideal Sunday?
My ideal Sunday is spent outdoors with my family! I have three babies and a wonderful husband with whom I love to explore the outdoors and experience new things.
What’s your favorite part of being a Student Service Advisor?
The ability to help students solve problems and complete our courses so they can make a positive change or begin a new career really makes the job worthwhile!
What do you feel makes our science prerequisite program unique?
The self-paced, online nature of our courses allow students to work through the material flexibly, allowing them to live their everyday life while improving their future.
Any advice for students interested in taking a science prerequisite course with us?
Make a plan to manage your time. Utilize my team and me as a resource with any questions or issues, so we can help you stay on track. Maintaining a steady pace in our courses is the key to success.
Do you have a favorite science prerequisite course we offer?
I was able to get a preview of our newly redesigned Medical Terminology course. It offers new and exciting interactive assignments and activities that help students with terminology learning. This new approach to tackle a very important course full of memorization is very exciting for students looking for an interactive way to learn!
You recently completed a degree with UNE Online! Can you tell us a bit about that?
I started the Master of Science in Applied Nutrition program to expand my knowledge in nutrition and to use it to instill the best eating habits in my three children. I received so much more than that with the help of my amazing instructors, classmates, and student support specialists.
What I learned in this program greatly altered how I viewed the world in regards to nutrition. I encourage anyone who wants to continue their education to go for it!
